Hazardous Location Lighting - 300 Watts - 60 LEDS - Quadpod Mount - 100ft cord - Class 1, Division 2
Part # HAL-TP-2X150LED-100 Price:
Made in the USA
The HAL-TP-2X150LED-100 Quadpod Mounted Hazardous Area LED Light from Larson Electronics produces 29,580 lumens of light capable of illuminating an area 36,000 square feet in size. Weather proof and U.L. listed for marine use, this dual LED fixture equipped hazardous area light quadpod is a versatile and ideal lighting solution for both hazardous and non hazardous locations.
*PLEASE NOTE: ANY FREE SHIPPING OFFERS DO NOT APPLY TO LIGHT MASTS, LIGHT TOWERS, OR QUADPODS*
The HAL-TP-2x150LED-100 is a quadpod mounted hazardous area LED light and provides 36,000 square feet of work area coverage with 29,580 lumens of light output. This portable LED quadpod light has a removable LED light head mounted on top of a two wheeled aluminum tripod for easy positioning of the unit from one area of the workspace to another. The LED light head on this unit includes two 150 watt LED fixtures and produces a wide flood pattern of light that is ideal for illuminating enclosed areas such as tanks and containers and is suitable for hazardous locations where flammable vapors, gases and dusts may be present.
This portable LED light quadpod is comprised of a removable LED light head assembly with dual 150 watt fixtures mounted atop a solid rubber wheeled cart fabricated from non sparking aluminum. The non sparking, adjustable and collapsible quadpod can be extended to eight feet and collapsed to three feet while wheels on two of the quadpod feet enable the operator to tilt the unit back and simply roll the entire assembly to a new location. The explosion proof LED light heads can be removed by releasing the hand knob and sliding the light and mounting bracket off of the quadpod support while the legs can be collapsed, aiding in deployment, storage and transport. The lamps can be easily adjusted up, down or from side to side and locked into position. Included with this LED light quadpod is 100 feet of SOOW cord which combined with 90 degrees of tilt offered by the LED light head provides an effective alternative to often cumbersome explosion proof string lights.
The lamp housings on this quadpod are weatherproof and constructed of die cast aluminum featuring hinged, removable front-access doors with captive closure screws for easy servicing and heat/impact-resistant tempered flat door glass. Each hazardous location light head contains thirty CREE XLamp XPG® five watt LEDs producing 493 lumens each. These LEDs are arranged in rows and paired with high purity optics to produce a 60 degree flood beam while only drawing a combined 2.50 amps on 120V, making these units ideal for use as highly efficient yet powerful work and area lights. The HAL-TP-2X150LED-100 quadpod mounted hazardous location LED light is an ideal replacement for fragile and hot running 400 watt metal halide floodlights.
This unit is also multi-voltage capable and can configured to operate on 120-277 volts 50/60 Hz. These LED lights retains 80% of their lumen output after 50,000 hours of use, far longer than incandescent or fluorescent lamps. The light head can be removed and used separately from the quadpod for added convenience.

Portability in Explosion Proof Lighting Equipment
Portable explosion proof lighting is constructed similarly to fixtures designed for permanent mounting, but there are a couple notable differences that must be taken into consideration if it is to be utilized safely. Since such lighting is portable, providing power for the lighting will require external cords and connections rather than the protected conduit and wiring permanently mounted fixtures use. This presents the first important difference that can cause potential problems if not fully un [...]
The Basics of Ingress Protection Ratings and What They Mean
Some important considerations to keep in mind are that although an item may be rated as ”IP68”, this does not automatically infer the item can be safely operated at any depth for any period of time without failure. For IP68 ratings, manufacturers choose the specified depth which must be beyond 1 meter at which the enclosure will protect against the ingress of water. Normally, as with industrial lighting equipment or marine lighting intended to be operated for extended periods beyond depths of 1 [...]
Delivered Lumens versus Total Lumen Output: LEDs and Traditional Lighting Comparisons
For most forms of traditional lighting, since the light is radiated in all directions, we usually need to include reflectors, lenses and diffusers in order to direct as much of the light as possible towards where it is needed. The result of this is called delivered light, and it is a more effective measure of how well a lamp performs than simply taking into account total lumen production. For instance, if we take a simple 100 watt incandescent bulb producing 1500 lumens and put it into a simple [...]
High Power Light Towers: Nighttime Construction Lighting of Choice
Some of the most serious issues associated with the use of large light towers concern glare and dark spots. For drivers approaching a nighttime road construction project, the fast and extreme increase in brightness can be difficult to adjust to after miles of driving under relatively low light levels. This problem is exacerbated by light towers that are not properly adjusted to direct light onto the work site without creating glare for oncoming traffic. [...]
